OTHER INFORMATION:
Defendant owned two Sharpei dogs, "Hooch" and "Baby Jane". Plaintiff and Defendant were good friends who worked together at a restaurant. While Plaintiff was visiting at Defendant's home, the dogs got out of the house and Hooch jumped on Plaintiff who said the dog bit her right arm. Plaintiff drove herself to the emergency room in Fort Valley where she received treatment. She later received some follow up treatment as well. She testified the injury healed within a month. Hooch's veterinarian testified for the Plaintiff about Hooch's occasional aggressive behavior. While there was no evidence Hooch had ever actually bitten anyone, he had nipped at someone at the veterinarian's office on one occasion. Defendant had a beware of dog sign in her yard. Plaintiff's case consisted of her own testimony, defendant's testimony on cross examination, and the testimony of the veterinarian. Defendant testified on her own behalf and also called her son to testify about the incident.
