Procurement Vision Statement

The goal of the Procurement Department is to achieve the highest standard of professional public procurement, and foster transparency to the procurement process.

Procurement Mission Statement

The Procurement Department provides a centralized purchasing system that ensures integrity and fairness, with responsibility for oversight of solicitation, vendor selection, negotiation, award, contract administration, reporting, disposal of surplus property, and emergency logistical support in order to ensure the best interests of Macon-Bibb County.

Procurement Process

The Procurement Department utilizes various methods of Procurement as prescribed in the Procurement Policy approved by the Macon-Bibb County Board of Commissioners. Small Purchases (up to $2,500.00 ), can be purchased using an approved County Purchasing card. Informal (Above $2,5000.00 but under $50,000.00), Request for Quotes will be obtained for purchases. Formal (Above $50,000.00), competitive sealed solicitation required; Invitation for Bids, Request for Proposals, Request for Qualifications, etc. MBE/WBE/DBE Participation Minority, Women Owned, and other Disadvantaged Business Enterprises are encouraged to participate in the solicitation process. Additionally, respondents are encouraged to use M/W/DBE subcontractors where possible.
