Mission
To manage the fiscal affairs of Bibb County on behalf of its citizens and the Board of Commissioners and to prepare, monitor, analyze and implement a financial plan for generating revenues and disbursing funds in order to maintain fiscal integrity and accountability and to support effective decision making.
Accomplishments
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Finance Department a Certificate of Achievement
for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 25 consecutive years. The award is presented for their preparation of
the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for each fiscal year. This accomplishment is the highest form
of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Finance Department the Distinguished Budget
Presentation Award for 22 consecutive years. The award is presented for their preparation of the Annual Budget
Document for each fiscal year. In order to receive this award, a governmental unit must publish a budget document
that meets program criteria as a policy document, as an operations guide, as a financial plan, and a communications
device.
